Direct Action

Established for the eradication of systemic racism against

African Americans

MISSION STATEMENT

At this critical historical juncture “Leadership must emerge that is focused on Direct and Sustained Action engaging with City, State and National governmental entities to reform the system from the inside out”.

TOWARDS THAT OBJECTIVE WE RESOLVE:

To provide leadership focused on outlining strategies and legislative proposals necessary for a sustained effort to make a reality of eradicating racism against African Americans and the establishment of a just and equal social system"

To engage in research, data analysis and collaborative efforts that provide resolutions focused on Direct and Sustained Action by engaging with City, State and National governmental entities to remove systemic institutional racism against African Americans.

To encourage all faith communities as they observe their faith traditions to be inclusive of African American contributions to American society and the plight of African Americans under systemic racism in America.

To maintain scriptural and moral parameters while working to eradicate systemic racism against African Americans from the criminal justice, Housing, Academic and health care systems.

To provide a core group of Subject Matter Experts to interface with local, state and national officials and articulate the aspirations of African Americans for social justice and the end of racist regulations, policies and laws.

America is experiencing massive demonstrations nationwide as citizens take to the streets to express their outrage and frustration over years of institutional racism and especially the killing oftentimes of unarmed black men and black women without any culpability or criminal liability of police officers.

The corona virus disproportionate impact on African Americans revealed neglect and discrimination in the area of healthcare, housing and access to essential services that impact the daily life of African Americans.

The murder of George Floyd appeared to be the moment when “Enough was simply Enough.”

If we are to avoid repeating the cycle that starts with an incident which sparks outrage followed by public outcry and demonstrations, followed by cooler heads prevailing then back to “Abnormal” this time at this critical historical juncture Leadership must emerge that is focused on Direct and Sustained Action engaging with City, State and National governmental entities to reform the system from the inside out.

Going forward the religious community in their Khutbahs, Sermons, lectures and speeches of necessity must be a chorus and not a solo of one note, one point or one concern, speaking out for justice and equity.

We must Listen and hear the voices especially of the youth who carry vivid memories of abuse up close and personally. We need the passion of those who have been so adversely affected that often times they must hold back tears as they share their stories of racial profiling, selective prosecution and criminal behavior against them by those hired to protect and serve the community.

We will be enhanced and empowered through those in the religious community sharing scriptural context and moral parameters for addressing and reforming a broken criminal justice system, Academic system and a broken health care system stemming from institutional racism.

This commitment requires those who will outline the strategy and structure necessary for a sustained effort to make a reality of eradicating racism and the establishment of a just and equal social system"

Today and the days that follow we must share, listen, think, organize, act and acknowledge that Almighty God is ultimately in control. We must also be mindful that we, the chorus are obligated to take charge of our circumstances and finally to maintain our integrity and morality as we settle for nothing less than Freedom, Justice and Equality.
